No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
Phil Ivey has been referred to as the greatest poker player on the planet by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and moved to New Jersey before his first birthday. His grandpa taught him penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, Phil was addicted to poker and wanted to learn everything he could about the game. He routinely told his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the adverse comments from other people destroy his goal of becoming one of the best poker competitors on the planet.
He started competing intently after getting a fake ID by the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The initial number of years for him were a teaching opportunity and coming away with a win was not a regular outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he made two final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil made a decision to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every day and is very humble about his achievements. He knows he makes blunders in each session of poker and always aspires to improve.
Despite the fact that Ivey has won some large tournaments, he likes destroying money games on a normal basis.
